01 Sep Repair Your Wood Furniture With These Three Tips
Do you have wooden furniture that is in need of sprucing up but not sure where to start? If you are one of those people who like taking on new projects, follow these three easy steps to fix up your worn-out wooden piece.
- Clean It Up. Start your project by cleaning off the dust and dirt that is layered on your piece. Try an oil-based cleaner to work through those tough grimy layers. If this isn’t doing the trick, try warm water and liquid detergent.
- Sand It Down. It is likely that your wooden piece has some scratches and general wear and tear. Sand down your piece to smooth out the surface and even get rid of old stains. Be careful when doing this step though, different types of wood may be sensitive to sanding.
- Refinish It. Once you have finished preparing your furniture, it’s time for the fun part. After ensuring all fixes have been made, you can begin to paint, stain, or finish the piece.
